Get ready to raise your steins and ‘prost’ as Alton Towers Resort will welcome back its Oktoberfest event from Saturday 9 September until Sunday 1 October.

To celebrate, the resort has unveiled an exclusive new Alton Beer in collaboration with local Alton Brewery, Rural Brewing Co.

The Laugh & Scream Lager (4.1% ABV) has been brewed in the heart of Alton, exclusively for the UK’s largest theme park. The local lager promises a crisp, refreshing and nutty flavour, using 100% British ingredients that are both vegan and gluten-free.

Co-founder of the Rural Brewing Co, Robert Goodley, said: “Celebrating Oktoberfest at Alton Towers Resort is a real feel-good experience, and we at Rural Brewing Co, are excited to be a part of this incredible event. Our journey to create the Laugh & Scream Lager has been led with the Alton Towers heritage in mind, infusing the homegrown craftsmanship that defines our brewery with the thrilling nature of Alton Towers Resort, to create an extraordinary tasting beer for guests to enjoy this September. We can’t wait for you all to raise a stein and experience it at Oktoberfest 2023!”

In addition to the exclusive brew, the resort will be transformed into a Bavarian-inspired spectacle, inviting guests to embark on a journey complete with Lederhosen-clad hosts, live entertainment and an array of German themed food.

Guests can tuck into a delicious selection of traditional bratwursts, schnitzels, Lebkuchen hearts and pretzels, with vegan food options also available.

The double decker Alpine themed bar, Wunderbar, will also return where guests can enjoy a beer whilst watching the stage shows. For those looking for a more laidback Bavarian experience, the Bierkeller located in Mutiny Bay’s Courtyard is the perfect place to relax and unwind while singing along to German tunes and sampling authentic German biers.

Included in the admission price of a theme park ticket, the entertainment-led festival ‘Oktoberfest’ will take place from 11.30am and continue after the rides have closed. The front lawns and the whole of Mutiny Bay will be transformed into a Bavarian wonderland. There will be two stages featuring vocalists, characters and an oompah band, Oomparty, who will perform modern day hits with a German twist. As well as a jam-packed schedule of live entertainment, there will be additional street theatre including Beer and Bubbles, Alpine Horn Man and the popular Barrell Monks.

Guests will also have the chance to enjoy the park’s world-class rollercoasters and family attractions such as the brand-new for 2023, The Curse at Alton Manor, Wicker Man, Oblivion and The Smiler.
