A local pub in Stafford, The Shire Horse, has reopened its doors to the public following a significant investment.

Part of the Chef and Brewer Collection of country pubs, the renovation has seen a complete transformation to the site both internally and externally, resulting in a more contemporary look and feel for guests to enjoy.

The inside of the pub has been redecorated, including the addition of new soft, modern furnishings and fittings, designed to create a more vibrant setting, while keeping the more traditional features intact to maintain the traditional pub atmosphere.

The garden terrace has been landscaped to create a bigger open space, which will include a heated, covered seating area allowing guests to enjoy al fresco dining all year round.

The Shire Horse will also be offering a new menu to celebrate the great British countryside with a range of dishes, including a glazed Pork Belly, Lamb Shank Shepherd’s Pie and a Vegetable Grill.

Not only that, but The Shire Horse will be continuing their breakfast offering on a weekend, serving from 9.30-11.15am.

Darren McCracken, General Manager of The Shire Horse said: “The team and I are so excited and proud to reopen the Shire Horse, after watching the transformation take place throughout the beginning of this year.

“We wanted to give our guests the best of both worlds when they enter the pub, by combining the longstanding, traditional features of the with a refreshed, modern look.”

“We’re particularly proud of our upcoming garden terrace – I would say it’s arguably the best in Stafford, so we can’t wait to show it off to our guests, both old and new!”
