Venerable musician, singer and songwriter Johnny Marr is still going strong 30-plus years on from his days as guitarist and co-songwriter in The Smiths.
Having clocked up a decade as a solo artist, he released Spirit Power: The Best Of Johnny Marr last autumn, a major new collection featuring songs from his four top-10 solo albums, a scattering of stand-alone singles and two new cuts, Somewhere and The Answer.
“For me,” begins Johnny, “the mission with these records was to make songs that you could listen to on the way to school, on the way to the gym, on the way back from work; you know, in the way that you had with, say, Blondie.”
This event takes place at The Civic at The Halls Wolverhampton.
