Bromsgrove's Avoncroft Museum will hold a volunteer open day this month for any new prospective volunteers looking to join the museum's team.

Taking place on Saturday 23 March between 10am - 3pm, guests can chat to both existing volunteers and members of staff to see which area such as ‘Events’ and ‘Behind the Scenes’, they would like to get involved with.

Volunteers assist the museum in many ways, from stewarding the furnished buildings and exhibitions during opening hours to assisting with the museum administration. Volunteers also help during special events and activities, as well as helping with maintenance, conservation and gardening.

The museum offer full training and support, out of pocket expenses and discounts on refreshments in the museum's tea room.

Lynda Case Events and Marketing Coordinator said “This year we really want to grow our wonderful teams, with so many varied events and activities in the diary for 2024, we need volunteers to join us. Tasks will be very varied to include behind the scenes set up and break down, delivering activities, attending shows, promotion to delivering leaflets and everything in between.”
