BBC Introducing LIVE, the BBC’s flagship music discovery event is set to explore Birmingham’s vibrant music scene with an unmissable event at The Jam House on October 27 from 1-8 pm.
This exciting one-day takeover, in collaboration with BBC 1Xtra, is designed to offer aspiring MCs, rappers, and artists a unique platform to showcase their talents, network with industry heavyweights, and receive invaluable, personalised feedback on their music.
The event kicks off with an insightful panel discussion focused on how BBC Introducing can support and elevate artists’ careers. Attendees will gain insights into the music industry’s inner workings and learn how to maximise opportunities through BBC Introducing’s extensive network.
One of the day’s highlights will be the Industry Feedback Centre, where emerging artists will have the rare chance to sit down one-on-one with key industry players and BBC 1Xtra representatives. Artists are encouraged to bring their music, as these professionals are eager to listen, critique, and offer guidance to help refine and develop their unique sound.
Adding to the excitement, BBC Introducing & 1Xtra will host an Open Mic Session for rappers, MCs, and singers to take the stage. With a fully equipped PA system, piano, and drum kit available, participants can bring their own music and instruments to deliver their best performances. The most outstanding acts of the day will have their performances played on BBC Introducing on 1Xtra, offering aspiring artists a chance to get their first national radio play.
Since its launch, BBC Introducing has been a cornerstone in championing unsigned British musicians, offering a powerful platform through the BBC Introducing Uploader and broadcasting across 23 local radio shows and six national shows on BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, Asian Network, and 6 Music. The annual BBC Introducing LIVE event is renowned for being a breeding ground for the next big names in the industry. Artists including Ed Sheeran, Raye, Olivia Dean, Sam Fender, and Loyle Carner, all started their journeys with the support of BBC Introducing.
