Twenty-two conversations with music-industry figures connected to Birmingham are to be released as podcasts.
Presented by Steel Pulse bassist Amlak Tafari and broadcaster Satnam Rana, the conversations have been recorded as part of On Record, a Birmingham Music Archive project which will also see an album of new songs about the city being released on 18 June. Produced as part of the Birmingham 2022 Festival, the eleven-track album will be available on a limited vinyl release and across all streaming platforms.
Selected dates also feature live performances from the artists appearing On Record.

Mo Jones aka Mistress Mo - one of the most prominent women on the ‘90s rave scene, co-owner of the Old Skool Daze record shop in Selly Oak and co-founder of TicketSellers and Eventree, 30 March at 7.30pm
John Mostyn - a prominent music industry figure, Friday 8 April at 7.30pm
We Are Muffy - Acoustic indie folk duo aka Angeline Morrison (The Mighty Sceptres, The Ambassadors of Sorrow, Emily & Angeline) and Nick Duffy (The Lilac Time, Bait) who together perform gentle love songs to Birmingham, 15 May at 3pm
Olalekan Babalola - Nigerian jazz percusionist, musician and two time Grammy Award-winner, Tuesday 21 June at 7.30pm
Sanity - one of the most exciting voices on the UK scene digs deep into the current themes of empowerment and self-examination on the Birmingham native’s upcoming album, 14 August at 3pm
Friendly Fire - an institution on the Birmingham Reggae scene, Sunday 31 July at 3pm
The album will be available on a limited vinyl release and across all streaming platforms.
