Sundays in the city just got a lot more wholesome as the luxurious Grand Hotel Birmingham, on Church Street, has launched a new Sunday Roast menu at its restaurant, Isaac’s, available every Sunday.

Dating back to 1879, the splendid Grade II listed hotel is home to Isaac’s restaurant, which is tucked just around the corner.

Those searching for a traditional Sunday roast with all the trimmings will be able to choose from a tempting selection of traditional roasts utilising produce from award winning butchery supplier, Aubery Allen and showcasing the finest British meats.

Choose from 28 day dry aged sirloin of beef, slow roasted leg of South West lamb or confit belly of Tamworth pork. Those feeling indulgent will enjoy Isaac’s triple roast which includes all three roast meats.  All are served with beef fat roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables braised beef stuffed Yorkshire puddings and red wine gravy.

In addition to the new Sunday Roast menu, Isaac’s has introduced a completely new menu this month, offering British brasserie-style cuisine with a French twist and dishes that will change seasonally.

A key focus of the new menu will be a commitment to using locally sourced, seasonal produce, allowing the chefs to create dishes that highlight the best ingredients each season has to offer. This approach not only enhances the quality and freshness of the food but also supports local farmers and suppliers, reinforcing Isaac's commitment to the community. Diners can look forward to ever-evolving dishes that celebrate the rich flavours of the region whilst showcasing the culinary creativity of the team.

This new concept is something of a departure for Isaac’s, which has previously been styled on a New York eatery with a menu to match.

Highlights include the corn fed chicken and confit leg Lyonnaise potato with sweetcorn purée Vermouth and spring onion cream.  Seafood lovers will enjoy the sea bass and king scallops with parmenter, pea puree and sauce vierge. A variety of steaks, burgers and salads are available, as well as a selection of plant-based and vegan options.

An decadent selection of desserts features the banana bavarois with toffee popcorn and liquid toffee and the elegant cherry opera with griottines cherries.
