Birmingham's Great Western Arcade will host a Craft and Makers Market this Saturday 2 September.

This free to attend event will take place between 11am - 5pm and will feature local makers and producers, plus other crafty entertainment and activities on the day.

Traders confirmed for the event include; unique, bespoke stained-glass art from Atomic Stained Glass; local artists Kate Brazier and Art by Noori; Blackbirds' Micro Bakery offering award-winning local sourdough, cookies & cakes; hand dyed British wool from Second City Yarns and laser cut jewellery from The Cluttery.

Stalls will be set up throughout the arcade giving visitors the opportunity to chat to the makers and learn more about their craft as well as buy directly from them.

There will also be a range of workshops to take part in throughout the day including badge making, Japanese book-binding and jewellery making. All activities are free of charge with no need to book.

Professional artist Ying will be leading a very special workshop on Malaysian wax batik painting, which will be free for the first 20 people on the day (£15pp thereafter).

This Saturday’s market is the second in a series of Curated Markets launched by GWA last month, which sees the arcade using its space to help showcase the incredible talent of the region's producers and craftspeople. Each market will have a different focus, where visitors can also enjoy unique experiences such as workshops, activities and talks.
