Midlands Arts Centre has announced the extension of Grayson's Art Club: The Exhibition, due to popular demand.

Based on the Channel 4 show of the same name, Grayson's Art Club was originally scheduled to run until April but has now been extended to 25 June 2023.

So far more than 19,000 visitors have visited the exhibition to view the 100 hundred exhibits on display.

Selected by Turner Prize winner Grayson Perry, his wife Philippa, and guest celebrities, all artworks are in response to themes of Love, Heroes and Heroines, Normal Life, Inside my Head, Holidays, The Future and The Queen. Special contributions from the likes of Prue Leith, Joe Lycett, Bill Bailey, Jo Brand add to the show's appeal.

Speaking to What's On ahead of the exhibition opening back in December, Grayson Perry said: “The great thing about the Art Club exhibition is that everybody who comes will find something they like because it’s so varied. And then they will identify with it and go: ‘Ooh, I think I could have a go at that.’
“That’s what I think the joy of Art Club is; that people can see themselves in the different characters, and then they might have found their creative outlet.”

Grayson's Art Club: The Exhibition is supported by a number of themed events at MAC in the coming months. These include Meet the Team Behind the TV Series on Friday 31 March; Sir Grayson Film Pick: The Rebel on Sunday 12 March, and Grayson's Art Club: The Exhibition Tour with Hannah Middleton on Thursday 25 May.

To round your visit off, onsite restaurant KILN is offering a special Afternoon Tea with a twist. Prices start from £17.50 for a selection of sandwiches, sweet treats (think scone with rhubarb compote and custard) and tea/coffee.
