Acclaimed impressionist painter Scarlett Raven will appear at Castle Fine Art’s ICC gallery in Birmingham on 15 March to reveal her new Beyond the Surface collection.
The artist, who is celebrating her 10-year anniversary with Castle Fine Art, is an alumnus of the world-renowned Central Saint Martins art college and counts Keith Richards and Orlando Bloom among her celebrity collectors.
Taking inspiration from Vincent Van Gough, David Hockney and Anslem Kiefer, Scarlett’s textured landscape paintings have positioned her as one of the most exciting female artists in the UK today.
She is widely celebrated for her signature ‘impasto’ technique—where thick layers of paint are applied directly from the tube—creating a deeply tactile, sculptural quality allowing the viewer to see and feel the physical texture of the paint.
She is recognised for her expressive colour palettes, bold textures, and immersive landscapes. However, last year, Scarlett released her collection Beyond the Surface, in aid of mental health charity, Mind, which marked a dramatic and poignant shift.
Created during one of the most challenging periods in her life, these all-white floral compositions strip away colour to reveal in texture the artist’s raw emotion, vulnerability, and resilience. Each piece is a testament to the power of creativity in overcoming adversity, offering viewers an intimate glimpse into Scarlett’s world.
Scarlett chose to donate 10% of the proceeds from each sale to the mental health charity, Mind.
She says: “It’s so important to me to support a charity like Mind. Without Mind, I don’t think I would be here. I regularly sought support from Mind - accessing their information, advice, services and video content online has been a lifeline during my breakdowns. They have also helped me better understand my experiences.”
This Spring, Scarlett will reveal a new set of original works in the Beyond the Surface collection, once again in aid of Mind.
Imogen Topliss, Head of Philanthropy at Mind said: "We’re very excited about Scarlett Raven’s Beyond the Surface collection and grateful to her for supporting Mind by donating a percentage of the proceeds. Scarlett’s support will help us to continue to be there for the people who need us and ensure that no one faces a mental health problem alone”.
On Saturday 15 March, Scarlett will make an exclusive appearance at Castle Fine Art, Birmingham – ICC for a special private view of the new collection, alongside some of her vividly colourful original works. This is an incredible opportunity to meet the artist in person and hear the deeply personal stories behind her works.
Scarlett’s appearance will take place between 1pm – 3pm on Saturday 15 March. Find out more and register your interest in attending here.
