An exciting array of comedies, murder-mysteries and musicals are on the way to The Alexandra, Birmingham in 2022.

Drama enthusiasts will be delighted with upcoming shows, including psychological thriller Catch Me If You Can, starring Patrick Duffy of Dallas fame; and Cluedo, based on the classic board game, stars EastEnders’ Michelle Collins; epic stage thriller, The Da Vinci Code, with Coronation Street’s Christopher Harper and Red Dwarf’s Danny John-Jules.

Later on in the year, The Alexandra will welcome two established classics of the stage; The Mousetrap, the world’s longest-running play on its 70th anniversary; and the multi award-winning National Theatre production of An Inspector Calls by Stephen Daldry.

Comedy will be high up the billing in the form of Mischief Theatre’s award-winning, smash-hit The Play That Goes Wrong, returning after its recent sell-out run in Birmingham, Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em starring Joe Pasquale and one night only acts including, Harry Hill and Al Murray.

There is plenty for musical fans with returning classics including 80s spectacular Footloose; BMOS are also set to grace the stage with Guys and Dolls, and the Alexandra’s annual Stage Experience production is back with Fame.

As Autumn approaches, the theatre will host the inimitable Derren Brown, the brand-new musical Fisherman’s Friends, Chichester Festival Theatre’s critically-acclaimed South Pacific, The Osmonds and the dazzling Dreamgirls which will settle in for a month-long run at Christmas 2022.

One night highlights with unparalleled singers including the nation’s sweetheart Jane McDonald and stars from the Platinum-selling 1970s Philadelphia group The Stylistics. Lord of the Dance will be celebrating the 25th anniversary and Diversity: Connected will come to The Alexandra twice, in both April and June.

The theatre also welcomes RuPaul’s Drag Race superstars in the hilarious Jinkx Monsson and Major Scales - together Again, Again! Also, Race Chaser, starring Alaska and Willam and Strike a Pose featuring Trinity the Tuck, Divina De Campo and Jujubee.
