The Old Crown, Birmingham’s oldest pub established in 1368, is hosting a free-entry Mardi Gras party this bank holiday weekend, Saturday 25 May.

Expect a live brass band, DJs playing New Orleans tunes and a seafood boil from Seafood City.

From the team behind Vietnamese Street Kitchen, Seafood City is opening this June over at The Arcadian, so this is your first chance to try some of the amazing food they have on offer. Inspired by the Viet-Cajun seafood boils of Louisiana, they’ll be serving up delicious calamari, white bait, and of course a classic boil menu. For just £15, get mussels, prawns, squid, potatoes, corn, and your choice of garlic butter, signature sauce or spicy Hot Stuff sauce. Make sure to grab a bib and get stuck into the delicious NOLA-inspired food available.

Also on the programme is the amazing Head Rush Brass Band, who will be getting the party going in The Old Crown’s gardens with NOLA Mardi Gras tunes, as well as blues & jazz hits, with DJ Mazzy Snape on the decks til late.

Additionally, Birmingham’s oldest pub is debuting a brand new cocktail & tequila menu for this event, with home-brewed house tequila, jalapeño, coffee & vanilla flavours among the exciting shots on offer. The cocktails include a Cazcabel Margarita, Mexpresso Martini and a Piña Colada Spritz, featuring Cazcabel tequilas, Evan Williams bourbon whiskey and much more.

And to celebrate this exciting new collaboration, The Old Crown and Seafood City are giving away a ROYAL COMBO on Saturday 25 May - with £360 of free seafood provided by Seafood City to share with your friends. To find out more, head over to The Old Crown’s Instagram page - entries close on Monday 20 May.
