The Old Rep have announced their first ever Halloween Theatre Tour taking place on Monday 31 October. If you like theatre, theatre history and spooky stories – then they have something extra special in store for you.

As the UK’s first purpose-built repertory theatre, The Old Rep occupies a unique place in theatre. The iconic theatre, built by Sir Barry Jackson, played a central role in the early careers of many of the UK’s most celebrated actors and theatre makers – including Sir Laurence Olivier, Dame Edith Evans, Peggy Ashcroft, Albert Finney, Derek Jacobi and even patrons Brian Blessed and Brian Cox. Learn all things historic about the venue from their Ghostest with the mostest – and you may even hear some spooky stories along the way.

Please note: Due to the age of the building and its Grade II listed status, the tour will include
climbing a number of stairs and is not suitable for those with impaired mobility.

Theatre Manager of The Old Rep Theatre, Darren Knapton, said of the Halloween Tours “We are very excited to be serving up a Halloween themed Theatre Tour this year which is going to be filled with tricks and treats along the way. Ghoulish ghost stories, spooky costumes and frighteningly fun cocktails will add a whole new element to our ever-popular Venue Tours. With historic learning around one corner and mythical tales at the next, you’re in for a unique night of entertainment at our historic theatre.”

All the ghostly goings-on may leave guests needing a stiff drink, so all tickets include their signature mocktail ‘The Purple Monster’ or guests can upgrade to a signature BOOzy cocktail named after the iconic film ‘Hocus Pocus’ for an extra £2.00 per person. All drinks* will be served after the tour has concluded in the Hinckley Bar.

The tour begins at 7pm and lasts around 1 hour and 45 minutes. The Hinckley Bar will be open post-tour for guests to chill out, enjoy their drinks and listen to some Halloween hits. Trick or treat yourself this year.

Tickets are now on sale at oldreptheatre.co.uk.
