A carefully restored courtyard of 19th-century workers’ houses - the last of its kind in the Midlands - the Back to Backs offer an atmospheric glimpse into the lives of working-class people in Birmingham across a period of 130 years. Coming complete with crackling fires and pans bubbling away on stoves, the popular visitor attraction comprises four houses, each decorated and furnished to represent a different era: the 1840s, 1870s, 1930s and 1970s.
