Victoria Parade was built in 1900 and the original shops featured a corn dealer at 127/129 Alcester Road (now Boots the Chemist which has been in residence for over 100 years), Cornish Brothers booksellers at 119 and an umbrella maker at 97. By 1910 there were 122 shops in Moseley.
