A packed programme of live entertainment has been unveiled at a popular new food and drink venue which opened its doors in Leamington in March.

Those with an appetite for comedy and music will welcome the news that both are now a firm fixture on the menu at 44 Café Bar & Bistro, in Clarendon Street, following a rousing first night of stand up earlier this month.

The comedy nights are kicked off by one live music act at 6.30pm before stand-up gets under way from 7.30pm. Doors open from 5.30pm.

On Wednesday 26 July, Midlands musical talents Daniel Barrie, Nicole Wilson and Vince will form the powerhouse vocal line-up in the bar between 7-10pm.

The events - which will also include other live performances such as dance, theatre and tastings as well as classes and networking opportunities - are being run in collaboration with OAF (Open Arts Festival) experience curators based in Leamington.

44 Café, Bar & Bistro is run by brewers Gavin Leach and Rob Singleton who are now proudly serving their Windmill Hill beers just a mile from their brewery where it is made, at Victoria Business Centre in Neilston Street.

Food and drinks will be available to purchase from their new menu, choosing from a selection of Small Plates, freshly cooked pizzas, burgers and Bar Snacks, all created to complement Windmill Hill’s ales.

Rob and Gavin also aspire to work with as many Warwickshire businesses as possible, current suppliers including Hilltop Farm for steaks and burgers; Cureights of Church Farm, in Budbrooke for their chorizo; Virtue Food Company of Radford Semele for pizza dough; and Joe Delucci's Gelato of Lighthorne who supply the ice cream for some of their ‘crowd-pleasing’ desserts.

Live music will also be a feature of Café 44’s first Drinks Festival, on 17-18 August involving local distilleries, breweries and wine merchants.

44 is open Wednesdays to Saturdays from 9.30am-11pm and Sundays from 12-6pm. For more information, visit: 44leamington.co.uk
