The National Trust in the Midlands is collaborating with an award-winning group of theatre makers to share the world premiere of a new play with audiences this September.

Please Do Not Touch follows Mason, a social justice TikToker, who spends his spare time in heritage houses examining the artefacts that exist there and uncovering the truth behind their origin stories.

Written by former Birmingham Poet Laureate Casey Bailey (GrimeBoy, Birmingham Rep) and directed by award-winning theatre maker, Gail Babb (Stars, Tamasha - OFFIE’S Best New Play 2024), Please Do Not Touch is a brand-new co-production between China Plate and Belgrade Theatre.

Following its world premiere in early September at the Belgrade, Please Do Not Touch will be performed at Attingham Park in Shropshire on Tuesday 24 September.

In addition to hosting performances of the play at Attingham Park and Upton House and Gardens, the National Trust is working with the production team and community groups to give young people from Coventry and Birmingham an opportunity to explore some of the themes raised in the play and generate their own creative responses.
