Owners of seafood and Mediterranean restaurant La Mer Rouge have confirmed that they are taking over The Coach and Horses pub in Shrewsbury, following its closure last year.

A statement on their social media pages reads: "We fell in love with The Coach and Horses a long time ago. Personally I was gutted when I stopped there one Sunday afternoon and it was shut. When we got offered the place there was no hesitation. We took over."

"Natalie and the team are getting it freshened up. We are keeping the character of the place and not changing much - just giving the pub and the restaurant some love and TLC that was much needed. Local real ales will be back on, great new choices of lager and ciders, screens to show the sports, and we will be serving food as well. Classic British cuisine with modern twist, Sunday lunches and possibly a carvery on a Sunday too."

The team are looking for front of house, kitchen staff and chefs to join them on their new venture. Please send your CV to lamerrouge.shrewsbury@outlook.com or ask to see Natalie at La Mer Rouge.
