Whether it’s a walk in the spring sunshine, dance through rainbows, or a fast-paced run – the region’s primary cancer charity is giving everyone the chance to be part of something special this year with the introduction of ColourFest.

The event builds on the overwhelming success of previous years when Lingen Davies Cancer Fund held 5km colour runs in Shrewsbury and Telford – raising over £100,000 to date to support its work in the wider community.

This year not one, not two, but three events all with a fresh new feel, will take place on the same day – spanning the charity’s large geographical patch across Shropshire and Mid Wales. Thousands of people have so far taken on the challenge to raise funds for the vital organisation which last year marked its 45th anniversary.

On Saturday 17 May, supporters and fundraisers can choose to complete a course at either Sansaw Estate in Hadnall, Apley Farm Shop near Shifnal, or Meadow Springs Country and Leisure Park in Caersws. Fun, riotous rainbows, and lots of colour are guaranteed at all three.

Each location will have its own event HQ where participants will be able to warm up to live entertainment, embrace the colour with a face glitter station, and refuel with lots of post run treats and refreshments. A number of regional businesses have already pledged their support in order to make ColourFest a phenomenal fundraiser - Paveways, Pipekit, Dyke Yaxley and Evabuild.

Participants must pre-register to take part in the run through the charity’s website, the entry fee includes a t-shirt, sunglasses, and a unique finisher’s medal.
