Telford & Wrekin Council has been awarded £20m from the Levelling Up Fund to benefit education and culture in the borough.

As part of this, Telford Theatre will have a major refurbishment. Plans could include improved facilities and an increase in the size of the audience that the theatre can accommodate.

The proposed investment will bring significant benefits for theatre goers and artists, enhancing the experience of live theatre and culture within Telford and Wrekin.

Telford Theatre goes from strength to strength, attracting audiences from within the borough and beyond, offering a wide and diverse range of live entertainment.

Further investment will help to secure the future of the theatre for many years to come, growing the local economy, bringing more people into the town, and continuing to put Telford and Wrekin on the map as a great place to live, work and visit. 

Over the coming months the council will be working up detailed plans on how the money will be spent.
