Indie band, The Sherlocks, have been announced to support The Fratellis on the Saturday night of Shrewsbury's Heal Festival.
Over recent years The Sherlocks have become one of the most exciting alternative-indie live bands in the UK. The band formed in the summer of 2010 in the village of Bolton upon Dearne in South Yorkshire. They initially jammed covers in garages before going on to play local working men’s clubs. Quickly building a devoted following, they went on to become the first unsigned band since The Arctic Monkeys to sell out The Leadmill in Sheffield.
Selling out tours across UK and Europe, the band have also achieved chart success with four top 20 albums, most recently People Like Me & You, World I Understand, Live for the Moment, and Under Your Sky.
Receiving the Best Festival award at the Shropshire Music Awards, Heal will feature multiple stages and arenas, activities for all age groups, fairground attractions, games, streetfood, unique music zones, such as the electric meadow and Caribbean inspired Jam:down, and a wellness village. In addition to music, free wellbeing demos and children's activities will also take place throughout the weekend.
Other acts announced so far for some of the other stages include drum and bass legend DJ Hazard, and Phil Hartnoll of Orbital – performing an Orbital DJ set. Again, Orbital helped define a generation of dance music with seminal hits such as Chime, Belfast and Halcyon.
Heal will take place at DMOS West Mid Showground from 19-21 September. Tickets are available at healfestival.co.uk
