The community-owned Festival Drayton Centre received The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2014. According to its citation, the award was presented for ‘creating quality of life-enhancing opportunities for the whole community and beyond by providing multi-purpose facilities, including cinema, theatre, spaces for meetings, leisure and learning, an exhibition gallery and coffee shop.’
