Burntwood Leisure Centre is hosting a free fun day on Saturday 15 February, with a range of activities on offer.

Active Lichfield has put together a varied programme for the event which will also see the official opening of Burntwood’s new skate park, which has been funded by Lichfield District Council and Burntwood Town Council, on the site.

This includes a range of complimentary activities to join:

  • Junior Pickleball, 12noon-12.30pm in the Sports Hall
  • Pickleball Taster, 12.45pm-1.45pm in the Sports Hall
  • US GIRLS Craft Activity, 12.30pm-2pm or 12.30pm-4pm (depending on staff availability)
  • Soft Archery, 2pm to 2.30pm in the Sports Hall
  • Junior Netball, 2.30pm-3pm in the Sports Hall
  • JUST Play, 2pm to 4pm on the 3G pitch
  • Kickboxing Taster, 3pm-4pm in the Sports Hall

There are free spinning classes all day and a free climbing wall scaling competition is running from 1pm to 4pm with prizes for the winner and runners up.

Tennis tuition is on offer on the outside court from 12.30pm to 2pm and you can learn to play netball there from 2pm to 4pm.

There will be a rowing competition with the fastest two people to cover 500m winning a month’s free membership to the leisure centre and one personal training session while for younger visitors at the soft play there is a drawing competition with a free birthday party to be won.

A professional skater will also be at the new skate park from 1pm to 4pm to demonstrate how to use this fantastic facility and there will be an array of free goodies and giveaways to enjoy on the day.
