Following on from the overwhelming success of last year’s Family Fun Open Day, Caudwell Children has announced that the event will return this summer.

On Friday 9 August, the award-winning Caudwell International Children’s Centre will once again open its doors to families for a day of excitement, entertainment and community spirit.

This free event promises a variety of fun and interactive activities suitable for all children and their families to enjoy. Highlights will include an engaging animal meet and greet, a sensory bus provided by Ruby’s Fund, an exciting games room, a DJ session from Gifted Workshops and a thrilling penalty shootout with the beloved Stoke City Mascot, Pottermus.

The Family Open Day sponsored by Trentham Foods, Fifteen Group, RCB, Halcion and Concentric Solutions, will also showcase some of the charity’s core services, career and volunteering opportunities and families can ask the clinical team any questions they have.

Visitors can leisurely explore the Centre, taking in its state-of-the-art facilities, including the Autism Assessment and Sensory Rooms. As the UK’s first purpose-built centre for multi-disciplinary therapy for childhood disability and research of neurodevelopmental conditions, including autism, the Centre stands as a beacon of innovation and support.

The design of the Centre was achieved through direct consultation with beneficiaries and stakeholders, ensuring a fully inclusive, welcoming, and purpose-built environment for all disabled and autistic children.

Kathryn Turner-Morgan, Event Coordinator at Caudwell Children said “After the incredible Open Day we had last year, we can’t wait to invite families to our centre once again. It’s an amazing opportunity for us to open our doors to the public and show off all of the life-changing work Caudwell Children does. Our staff are also on hand to answer any questions that people may have about our services, fundraising and career and volunteering roles.

“We’ve got plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained, and this year we even have a stage for our fabulous singers and performers.”
