Residents, communities and businesses are being invited to take part in shaping an exciting new public mural coming to Lichfield City Centre.
The mural, funded through UK Shared Prosperity Funding is set to transform the alleyway between Market Street and Bird Street Car Park.
The artwork will be painted across 30 metres of the alleyway and is set to capture Lichfield’s heritage and unique offering as a city and will be painted by international street artist and muralist Nacho Welles.
Nacho has painted in street and graffiti art festivals across Europe and has painted murals all over the world.
Lichfield District Council is now seeking input, to help shape the final artwork that will be painted in the coming months.
Residents, communities and businesses can take part in an online survey that will be open until Sunday 16 March, and asks for views on themes, colour schemes and key elements to bring the mural together.
Alongside this, Nacho will be holding workshops with students from Lichfield College in street art and involving them to create the final artwork.
Nacho Welles, street artist and muralist said: “I’m delighted to be chosen for this project in Lichfield. The artwork will be bold, bright and colourful, designed to enliven the alleyway and reflect the community’s vision.”
