The multi award-winning Lichfield Musical Youth Theatre will be returning to Lichfield Garrick Theatre with a production of the smash hit musical Grease this September.

A cast of more than 40 local young performers aged 12-19 will soon be able to audition to take part in the production, following the completion of their current production of Stephen Sondheim’s fairy tale musical Into The Woods which is due to be performed at the Lichfield Cathedral from Tuesday 25 - Saturday 29 April.

Oliver Rowe, Artistic Director for LMYT, said “I’m delighted to be returning to the Lichfield Garrick. The team there led by Daniel has worked closely with us to make this possible, and we’re so excited to return to what was our very happy home for many years. Their commitment to strengthening ties with the community groups, and to produce some fantastic productions there is fantastic and we can’t wait to be back!”

Lichfield Garrick's Artistic Director, Daniel Buckroyd said, “I’m passionate about the Garrick Theatre being at the heart of the cultural life of Lichfield, and welcoming brilliant creative community organisations like LMYT back into the building is a big part of that, so we’re thrilled that Grease will be featuring in our programme later this year.”
