The Lichfield Garrick Theatre is launching its biggest ever season to take you into 2025, featuring a fantastic programme of shows, with something for all ages and audiences.

The multi award-winning arts venue and charity is bringing everything from West End drama, side-splitting comedy, world-renowned tribute artistes and more.

The season kicks off with The Chase’s Jenny Ryan on her Out of the Box tour. Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan blew the X Factor Celebrity judges away with her incredible voice, which you can hear at this intimate evening of song and storytelling with a few showbiz secrets thrown in.

From there, it's a jam-packed season of drama and comedy, including Solve-Along-A-Murder-She-Wrote and Murder for Two, for the true crime and murder mystery lovers among you, as well as Thomas Hardy’s Far from the Madding Crowd and Merry Opera’s Die Fledermaus for fans of the classics.

April 2025 will see an in-house production of Elly Brewer and Sandi Toksvig’s The Pocket Dream, a hilarious reimagining of Shakespeare’s most popular comedy that will have you rolling over laughing. Your favourite duo from the Garrick Panto, Sam Rabone and Ben Thornton, will lead the cast through this whimsical, outrageous misadventure with further casting to be announced. This production is adapted and directed by Lichfield Garrick’s very own Chief Executive and Artistic Director, Daniel Buckroyd, following a spectacular run and tour of in-house production Farm Boy, earlier this year.

Daniel Buckroyd says: “We love hosting the very best touring theatre, music and comedy at the Garrick, but there’s nothing quite like producing shows ourselves; a chance for our multi-talented team of theatre-makers to take centre stage and for local audiences to enjoy a production that’s been made right here in Lichfield. Farm Boy that we produced in our Studio in Spring 2024 went so well that we’re taking it on a national tour next year, and we’ve decided to produce our next new show in our Main Theatre.  The Pocket Dream, Sandi Toksvig and Elly Brewer’s re-imagining of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream has everything you could ever want in a night out at the theatre – drama, romance, theatrical tricks-a-plenty and lots of laughs - and that’s before Sam Rabone and Ben Thornton get involved! It promises to be huge fun and we can’t wait to get into the rehearsal room to bring Sandi & Elly’s hilarious script to life and share it with our audiences.”

For music lovers, there will be returning favourites such as The Glam Rock Show (formerly Get It On), The Magic of the Bee Gees, and 80s Mani , as well as brand new offerings such as Country Superstars, the world’s biggest country music tribute with an award-winning cast as seen on London’s West End, and Back In The Day, the ultimate nostalgia party taking you on an unforgettable journey through the iconic sounds of the 80s, 90s and 00s.

It’s a season full of famous faces with The Queen of the West End, Kerry Ellis, singing all your show favourites in October. Comedy lovers will be spoilt for choice, with street cop turned BBC radio star, Alfie Moore, bringing you a night of comedy you won’t want to miss. Hilarious powerhouse Omid Djalili then visits for two evenings on his stand-up tour, Namaste, followed by Milton Jones who you might recognise from Mock the Week and Live at the Apollo, bringing his Ha!Milton tour to us in March 2025. Fan-favourite and Lichfield Legend, Sam Rabone, returns following the success of his debut variety show earlier this year with another fun-filled Big Bostin’ Variety Show. New Old Friends return with Christmas Present & Correct, a brilliant new Christmas farce with their classic witty wordplay and multiple-role mayhem we know and love.

There’s plenty for the little ones to enjoy this year too, with children’s classics such as The Gruffalo, Dinosaur World Live, Storytime with Santa and Tom Fletcher’s There’s a Monster in your Show brought to the stage as a brand-new musical show. For bigger kids - Frankenstein - a brand-new gothic thriller based on Mary Shelley’s novel, Sh!tfaced Shakespeare: A Midsummer Night’s Dream and winner of the Laurence Olivier Best Comedy Award, and the hugely in-demand Pride & Prejudice (*Sort of) visits direct from its triumph in the West End. Families will be blown away by Science Museum Live an experience with something to capture everyone’s imagination. Gordon Buchanan joins us with Lions & Tigers & Bears bringing you first-hand stories of the heart-stopping moments, mud, sweat and tears that have shaped his extraordinary career.

The theatre will also be welcoming back a variety of local theatre companies, with upcoming productions from Sutton Coldfield Musical Theatre Company (Annie), Lichfield Musical Youth Theatre (Evita), Lichfield Operatic Society (Anything Goes) and Lichfield Players (Habeas Corpus).
