The Rotary Cars In The Park event will be revving into Lichfield this summer.

Thousands of visitors are expected to turn out for the 26th year of the popular classic car show, which runs at Beacon Park across the weekend of July 1st and 2nd.

One of the largest events of its kind in the country, it is also the flagship fundraising and community event of organisers Lichfield St Chad Rotary Club in association with The Stan Bowley Trust.

The show is free to attend but donations are being invited towards a host of local, national and international charities, including The Stan Bowley Trust, Midlands Air Ambulance, Lichfield Police Cadets, Navy Cadets, Shelter Box, Aqua Box, Lichfield Talking Newspaper, local Foodbanks and the Pathway Project to name a few.

The-action-packed two days will include more than 2,000 cars on display as well as fairground rides, new and used car dealer stands, BMX displays, and a varied number of food and commercial stalls to visit.

A spokesperson for Lichfield St Chad Rotary Club said: “We are looking forward to another enjoyable Rotary Cars In The Park. Located in the beautiful setting of Beacon Park, a short walk from Lichfield’s city centre, there will be lots of interest for all the family as usual and it’s free entry for the public.  The event aims to raise money for charity so we hope the public will donate whatever they feel able to do.”  He added: “Lichfield St Chad Rotary appreciate the support of more than 120 volunteers each day from other local Rotary clubs and organisations in the staffing of this event. This community event could not be put on without the volunteers.  It’s a great weekend of fellowship”.

Rotary Cars In The Park takes place between 9am and 4pm on both days and public parking is available at both Beacon Park (Bunkers Hill WS13 6RA) and on the football fields on the south side of the A51 at £5 per vehicle.
