A touring textile exhibition retelling of the creation story in the book of Genes will make its way to Lichfield Cathedral this month.

‘Threads through Creation’ by Jacqui Parkinson is a sequence of twelve huge textile panels, retelling of the creation story in the book of Genesis, a retelling which many visitors will find both moving and breathtaking.

Viewers are treated to a variety of colours, shapes, patterns and of course lots of creatures.

The exhibition is one of the largest textile projects by a single artist, ever, taking Jacqui nearly three years to complete. It follows on from ‘Threads through Revelation’, her first huge exhibition which visited 14 cathedrals from 2016 to 2018 and was seen by more than 500,000 visitors.

'Threads through Creation' by Jacqui Parkinson will be on display at Lichfield Cathedral from Wednesday 17 April until Sunday 2 June. Find out more about Lichfield Cathedral at lichfield-cathedral.org.
