Trentham Live announce Public Service Broadcasting and The Anchoress as special guests for Manic Street Preachers on Saturday 17th August for this year’s music spectacular.  Also announced are Hue & Cry who will be joining the fantastic Deacon Blue and Lightning Seeds on Thursday 15th August.

The 4-day music event is bigger and better than ever before having announced Deacon Blue, Jess Glynne, Manic Street Preachers and Busted as the headline acts. The event takes place from Thursday 15 August through to Sunday 18 August 2024.  Four amazing shows in one unique setting!

Public Service Broadcasting have been “teaching the lessons of the past through the music of the future” for more than a decade now. 2013’s debut album (Inform - Educate - Entertain) used archival samples from the British Film Institute as audio-portals to the Battle Of Britain, the summit of Everest and beyond.

Their most ambitious undertaking yet, their last studio album Bright Magic brought the listener to Europe’s heart and de facto capital, the cultural and political metropolis that is the ‘Hauptstadt’ of the Federal Republic of Germany – Berlin.

Welsh producer and multi-instrumentalist The Anchoress (aka Catherine Anne Davies) has amassed an army of celebrity fans including the Manic Street Preachers, Elton John, Caitlin Moran, and The Cure’s Robert Smith. Her live show mixes epic melancholic guitar anthems alongside her trademark “swaggering synth-pop” (Uncut) and “shining alt-pop from the artisan of darkness” (Record Collector).

Her second album The Art of Losing successfully transformed wall-to-wall critical plaudits into a Top 10 position in the UK physical album charts, as well as the #1 spot on iTunes. It was also named an album of the year by The Sunday Times, The Line of Best Fit, Mail on Sunday, Prog, and The Sun, and hailed as “one of my favourite records of the year” by Sir Elton John.

Hue and Cry was formed by brothers Patrick and Gregory Kane in 1984 and the duo made a huge impact with the release of their debut album ‘Seduced and Abandoned’ (1987) which featured their first top ten single ‘Labour of Love’. The follow up album ‘Remote’ continued the trend and produced the huge hits ‘Looking for Linda’ & ‘Violently’. Albums like ‘Stars Crash Down’, ‘Showtime’ and ‘Jazz Not Jazz’ ensured Hue and Cry’s continued successful run through the 90’s, whilst their 2005 appearances as finalists on ITV’s primetime show ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’, featuring their version of Beyonce’s ‘Crazy In Love’, thrust the band firmly back into the mainstream limelight.

Trentham Live has established itself as a Summer event on the UK festival calendar, drawing music enthusiasts from far and wide, promising an unforgettable weekend for music lovers of all ages.

The event is now hailed as a firm family favourite in the event calendar, with a growing number of families choosing it as their first live music experience with young children along with a great selection of food vendors.
