Join the Orchestra & Chorus to learn Bach's St John Passion.
Join Spires Music for a chance to sing and play excerpts from Bach's dramatic masterpiece, learning the work from scratch in just one day.
Complete with soloists, the day will consist of separate and joint choral and orchestral rehearsals, comfortable tea breaks and an afternoon tea before a free, informal performance at 4.30pm - 5.30pm. All are welcome to join the performers at 4pm for a spot of tea and cake before the final run-through. Vocal scores can be provided (please indicate you want one when booking your place).
Orchestral parts will be provided on the day. Morning refreshments and afternoon tea provided but participants are requested to bring their own lunch. Players should also bring a music stand.
Every year, Spires Music welcomes over 100 musicians to play and sing, learning a work from scratch in just one day. Rehearsals take place during the morning and afternoon and then, under the guidance of Spires' Music Director, Jack Lovell-Huckle, there is a free, informal performance for friends and family from 4.30pm.
