The Belgrade Theatre has launched the application process for their Digital Media Academy course for 2024.

This is a training programme for anyone aged 18-30 who has a love for creating digital content and has an interest in learning more about film and video production.

The Belgrade Theatre’s Digital Media Academy will teach participants how to create digital content and is suitable for all experience levels, from entry-level content creators to established media artists. The programme is free to attend and will last 10 weeks, with sessions taking place weekly on Wednesday evenings. Industry professionals will guide participants on how to take their digital media ideas from script to screen, teaching the required techniques in how to create, shoot and edit their content.

The Digital Media Academy will offer participants many opportunities to collaborate with the Belgrade Theatre as they develop their skills. This includes meeting the Creative Director of the Belgrade Theatre, interviewing cast members of upcoming productions at the Belgrade, access into the theatre’s rehearsal spaces and R&D sessions along with the opportunity to visit a local professional film set. The Digital Media Academy was first launched in 2021, where participants worked on the Belgrade’s TV drama series SeaView which is now available to stream on Amazon Prime.

The Belgrade Theatre’s Digital Media Academy will begin sessions on Wednesday 22 April 2024. Applications are now open at belgrade.co.uk and will close on Tuesday 14 April. The Belgrade actively encourages applications from anyone with additional needs or who may require bespoke adaptation, support or sensitivity.
