On Monday 15 July, the Warwickshire Cricket Foundation's Community Team (WCF) hosted a unique Enrichment Day at Edgbaston Community Sports Ground. In partnership with Birmingham Phoenix, the event focused on engaging with local primary and secondary school children and getting them excited about cricket ahead of the summer holidays.
Birmingham Phoenix captain and local hero Moeen Ali was on hand to offer advice to the young cricketers and inspire the next generation to pick up a bat and ball.
The Warwickshire Cricket Foundation is a charity set up in January 2024, following the merger of the Edgbaston Foundation and the Warwickshire Cricket Board.
With less than a week to go until the start of The Hundred, the first fixture will see Birmingham Phoenix take on the Oval Invincibles in London on Tuesday 23 July. The team’s first home game at the iconic Edgbaston Stadium is on Saturday 3 August, as they face off against Southampton’s Southern Brave.
