Who was the first person in space? Can you name a Mars rover - or even all of them? How long does it take for the Moon to orbit the Earth? These questions and others are the sort that a visit to the National Space Centre will help you answer. Reopening from August the 8th, the award-winning venue allows enthusiasts to get up close and personal to various aspects of Man’s ongoing exploration of the ‘final frontier’.

A winning combination of museum and educational resource, the centre features six galleries, including the iconic Rocket Tower and the UK’s largest domed planetarium, crammed full of space suits, rockets, satellites and meteorites.

Visitors who fancy a relaxing break from travelling the universe can take one small step for famished explorers by visiting the cafe. As well as lunches and afternoon teas, the menu features freshly brewed coffee made with beans roasted a little closer to home than outer space (right on the venue’s doorstep in Leicester, in fact)!
