The Smethwick Arts Collective - a partnership of local arts and community organisations - will host a number of festive shows for Smethwick audiences this December.
Wonderland
Taking place on Tuesday 3 December at Dorothy Parkes Centre, Wonderland sees three performers surprise, intrigue and delight, blending live music, dance, audience interactions and extravagant costumes to conjure up a sack-load of festive fun.
A gift that keeps on giving, Wonderland includes records playing, snowball fights, tap dancing, violin playing, shiny bows galore and much more.
The Toymaker
A family festive show inspired by various traditional stories from around the world, The Toymaker will have two showings at Dorothy Parkes Centre, on Sunday 8 December.
Visit the Toymaker in his workshop as he prepares to go out on his deliveries. A storytelling performance, performed by one actor who skilfully animates various puppets and props to weave together all the differing stories to create a funny, anarchic, moving and beautiful journey through various cultures and makes for visually stunning theatre.
A Winter's Tail
A Winter's Tail will have two showings on Wednesday 11 December at Brasshouse Community Centre.
A Winter’s Tail is a fun and gentle introduction to theatre with play-along storytelling, original music, puppetry, theatre games, movement and lots of imaginative play.
The snow is falling and the solstice is approaching. Ratty is getting ready. She wants everything to be really rat-tastic! But will her friends make it through the snow to the winter woodland revels?
Can you help them on their journey? There’ll be excitement, adventure, play-acting, games, music, a splattering of silliness and lots of snow!
Tha Magical Elves
On Friday 13 December, Brasshouse Community Centre will welcome The Magical Elves for a performance.
The Christmas countdown has started, everywhere elves are busy preparing and wrapping presents.
Will Gerald and Wallace manage to get their presents ready in time, or will they get distracted by all the Circus equipment they have been asked to wrap?
