Wolverhampton Art Gallery will be hosting a new programme of events ‘Friday Lates’, where on the last Friday of the month, the gallery will be opening the door after hours and offer a new way to experience art and culture within the city.

Each event will be inspired by current exhibitions and include a variety of live performances, music, workshops and curators’ talks throughout the gallery spaces.

Glaze, the gallery's eating space, will also be open to ensure visitors don’t go hungry or thirsty.

To celebrate the reopening of The Halls Wolverhampton and the live performance of Blur in the city, the first 'Friday Late' will take place on Friday 26 May, with the gallery staying open until 7pm that evening, giving audiences a taste of this new series of Friday Lates.

Visitors to the city or attending The Halls Wolverhampton will have the opportunity to see the latest exhibitions including ‘The more things change…’, that recognise and celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Blk Art Group and ‘Citizen UK Wolverhampton: Punjabi Migration Experiences’ an exhibition curated in partnership with the National Portrait Gallery and citizen researchers, chronicling important figures and stories within Wolverhampton’s Punjabi community

Glaze will be playing 90s music and serving drinks, snacks and a selection of sharing platters. There will also be an opportunity to draw a favourite 90s band poster or other artwork with friends in a Drink and Draw activity.

Wolverhampton Art Gallery is free to visit Monday to Saturday, 10.30am until 4.30pm, and Sunday, 11am until 4pm.
