Merry Hill has announced it will welcome an eco-alternative to a traditional ice rink this festive season.

From Saturday 7 December, Merry Hill's Glice Rink will be open to skate in the Lower Mall near M&S and Mango, and will run until Wednesday 8 January.

Glice is a synthetic material that is designed to look and feel like real ice, without the massive energy and water consumption of refrigerated ice.

The rink will be completed with twinkling lights, joyful music and snow, and is completely free to attend, but booking a time slot online is advised. Walk-in spaces are available, on a first come, first served basis.

The first time slot on weekdays will be for relaxed, SEN-friendly sessions, with reduced volume music and no fake snow. Click here for FAQs.

You can book your free time slot for the Merry Hill Glice Rink at eventbrite.com.
