Four new dates have been announced for Newhampton Arts Centre’s live folk music season of autumn 2022.

First on the bill is Chris Wood is an English singer/songwriter and composer who plays fiddle, viola and guitar. Chris makes a welcome return to the NAC after his highly successful gigs in 2018 and 2013. Chris will be playing at the NAC and opening the season on Saturday 24th Septemeber at 8pm.

The Pitmen Poets will be stopping by the centre after deciding to embark on the final, never to be repeated, one and only last farewell tour. Ex-Lindisfarne singer and songwriter Billy Mitchell, Warhorse Songman, renowned singer and instrumentalist Bob Fox, leading exponent of Tyneside song Benny Graham, and Award winning Durham songwriter Jez Lowe individually and collectively celebrating the triumphs, tragedy, and humor of the North East’s coal mining heritage, in an evening of great music. They retrun to the stage at Newhampton Arts Centre on 15th October.

Nick Hart will be performing on 19th November and is an award-winning singer and multi-instrumentalist, whose work with English folk song is rapidly gaining him a reputation as one of the most acclaimed performers of his generation.

Six times BBC Radio 2 Folk Award nominee and ‘Singer of the Year’ 2017 Jim Causley will be presenting a very special concert on Saturday 17th December. Jim will be presenting ‘A Causley Christmas’ celebrating the Christmas season as he entertains with lesser known West Country carols, medieval and secular carols from around the British Isles, as well a dollop of festive fun with songs of over-indulgence and even a spot of panto too! Guaranteed to get audiences in the festive spirit!
