A new printmaking festival showcasing the work of printmakers throughout the region and beyond, will debut at Wolverhampton's Newhampton Arts Centre this weekend.
Print Fest Wolverhampton aims to celebrate printmaking in all its forms, from traditional to contemporary.
The three day festival (Friday 8 – Sunday 10 November 2024), will showcase handmade original prints from both professional and hobbyist printmakers.
The festival will launch on Friday 8 November at 6.30pm at Newhampton Art Centre, with music, 'Meet the Artist' and printmaking demonstrations. The exhibition will provide an opportunity for visitors to buy affordable, original art from local artists.
Throughout the weekend, guests can browse the full exhibition with 18 stands and prize exhibition. Plus there will be free demonstrations and drop in workshops throughout Saturday and Sunday, suitable for all ages and abilities.
Print Fest Wolverhampton is the brainchild of Wolverhampton-base printmaker/mixed media artist Jacky Fellows, after Jacky visited Printfest Ulverston in 2022. She has a passion for collaborating with other artists and is always looking for opportunities to expand a thriving arts hub in Wolverhampton and the surrounding area. It was her visit to Ulverston that inspired the idea of organising a local Print Festival at Newhampton Arts Centre.
