Wolverhampton Literature Festival is set to take return for its ninth year from Friday 31 January to Sunday 2 February 2025, with organisers looking for people to take part.

The annual event brings together literary enthusiasts, renowned speakers, and emerging talent from across the country, celebrating the cultural vibrancy of Wolverhampton.

In preparation for the festival, the organising committee has announced an open call for proposals. Local and national speakers and performers are invited to submit their proposals for author talks, panel discussions, workshops, poetry performances, and interactive performances to be delivered at the festival.

Wolverhampton Literature Festival are open to a range of art forms for the 2025 festival. If you have an idea or would like to showcase your talents on stage, please do get in touch.

Submissions from those who are underrepresented in the programming is encouraged, including but not limited to disabled artists and people from Black, Asian, and ethnically diverse backgrounds.

You can submit your proposals through the online form at Proposal Form or as a 5-10 minute audio/video entry by emailing LitFest@wolverhampton.gov.uk 

The proposal submission deadline is 18 August 2024.

In your application please outline: 

  • proposed session title
  • speaker(s) biography and contact information
  • proposal Outline (max 250 words)
  • budget breakdown (Include Artist Fees, Commissioning Fees, Materials etc)
  • any special requirements or technical needs

Proposals will be evaluated based on creativity, relevance, and potential to engage the audience. Successful applicants will be notified by mid-September. Please read the terms and conditions before submitting a proposal.
