Halesown Library is an asset to local community offering many facilities and activites. The library stocks a wide range of books in a variety of formats. It also stocks CDs and DVDs as well as newspapers and magazines. 

The library also hosts reading groups. These are friendly and popular groups and new members are always welcome. These are held:

• 2nd Monday of the month: 2pm to 3pm 

• 3rd Monday of the month: 2pm to 3pm

• Crime Reading Group: Friday's once a month: 10.30-11.30am

• Classics in chunks: Friday's once a month: 11am to 12pm 

There is also a creative writing group held every month on a Tuesday at 2pm - 3pm.
