Artist Luke Jerram’s touring artwork, Gaia, will visit Tewkesbury Abbey from Friday 2 - Tuesday 20 February.

Measuring seven metres in diameter, the installation features high-resolution NASA imagery of Earth’s surface, providing an opportunity to see the planet floating and rotating in three dimensions.

The artwork is accompanied by a 30-minute surround-sound composition by Luke’s regular collaborator, multi-award-winning composer Dan Jones.

Talking of the arrival of Gaia, Revd Canon Nick Davies, Vicar of Tewkesbury said; “We’re really excited to be hosting Gaia. We live on a fragile planet facing a climate emergency. I hope that this event will give tens of thousands of people the opportunity to wonder at the beauty of the Earth. Floating in the Abbey this globe offers us a new perspective on our planet and might help us to see it as a sacred place”

Tickets are now on sale at rosestheatre.org/events/gaia.
