The Severn Valley Railway is hosting a mini-festival of traditional British dance performances on Saturday 20 July, as six dance groups travel the line, entertaining passengers throughout the day at stops along the way.

Styles of dance include Morris, step clog, garland, Welsh Border and North West, and performances take place across the railway at Kidderminster, Bewdley and Bridgnorth stations as well as The Engine House at Highley.

‘We’re expecting a wonderfully joyous atmosphere,’ said Lewis Maddox, the SVR’s visitor engagement manager. ‘We’ve dance groups coming from far and wide, including Wales, the North-West, Shrewsbury and Stourbridge. All our visiting dance groups are accompanied by traditional musicians and the whole spectacle is guaranteed to put a spring in your step and a smile on your face.’

All entertainment is included in the usual price of travel. There’s more information on performance times at svr.co.uk.
