RHS Malvern Spring Festival, a pioneering four-day seasonal showcase of new horticultural trends and innovations, will make a triumphant return to Three Counties Showground, Malvern from Thursday 8 -Sunday 11 May 2025, to kick-off the RHS Floral Show season for 2025 with a brand-new theme: Plants & People.
RHS Malvern Spring Festival has a long-standing reputation as the trailblazer of the RHS Floral Show season, leading the way in the latest gardening developments. Organisers have confirmed that the 2025 festival will feature forward-thinking and exciting new features, alongside some of the country’s best-known expert horticulturalists and TV gardening personalities, including Alan Titchmarsh MBE - one of Britain’s best-loved gardeners, writers and television presenters - the crowning of the very first RHS-medal-winning gardens of the year, cutting edge horticultural design, live cooking demos from some of the country’s most talented chefs, plus a whole host of food, drink and shopping opportunities as well as fun family activities for all ages.
The theme for 2025’s festival, Plants & People, invites both new and returning visitors to explore the myriad of ways in which plants impact our lives - from the food we eat and the air we breathe, to the fascinating impact they have on our mental and physical wellbeing. Visitors can listen to insightful talks from horticultural experts on subjects including sustainable gardening and accessible plant care, gardening for wellbeing and ways to incorporate plants into your everyday life. Cultivation to consumption and soil to plate are topics that will also be explored by horticultural experts and complemented by foodie workshops and talks from some of the UK’s top TV and restaurant chefs, sharing delicious ideas of ways to cook with home-grown ingredients. This year’s festival theme celebrates the notion that tending to plants is as much about nurturing ourselves and our communities as it is about caring for our planet.
A highlight for many visitors of RHS Malvern Spring Festival are the ground-breaking Show Gardens. Each garden will be meticulously designed by leading and emerging horticultural talents, and scrutinised by the RHS judges for the very first, coveted gold medal prize of the year.
Additionally, the organising team have revealed that this year’s RHS Malvern Spring Festival will host the very first RHS Judged Indoor Show Gardens. This brand-new feature, never before seen at Malvern, leads the way in recognising the versatility of plants and ways we can incorporate them into our lives, even when outdoor green space may not be available. These pioneering Indoor Show Gardens will showcase creative ways of using indoor plants, encouraging visitors to consider the various ways horticulture can be enjoyed indoors. The Indoor Show Gardens will be scrutinised by a panel of horticultural experts and RHS judges to crown the very first RHS gold medal-winning Indoor Show Garden.
Jane Edwards, Head of Shows & Marketing at Three Counties Showground, said: “We’re really excited to host this new category of RHS Judged Indoor Show Gardens at Malvern next year. Located in the dedicated Festival of Houseplants area, these Indoor Show Gardens aim to demonstrate that plants are accessible to all and everyone should be able to enjoy the benefits of them, even when planting in outdoor green space isn’t an option. The Indoor Show Gardens will demonstrate that indoor spaces can be aesthetically transformed by the incorporation of houseplants.”
The ‘Taster Ticket’ will return for 2025 following a successful introduction at last year’s show. This offers visitors the chance to experience the festival from 2pm onwards on Saturday 10 May for just £16, and is ideal for those who would like to visit the show for the first time, families that want to enjoy a fun afternoon out, or anyone looking to do some dedicated plant shopping to liven up their own indoor or outdoor spaces.
