The Military Wives Choir has announced a new 16-date tour of the UK. Kicking off at South Park Hill, Bracknell, in May 2025, the tour will take in intimate venues across the UK, concluding at the Castle Theatre, Wellingborough, in November, and visiting Worcester's Swan Theatre on 14th May.
The Military Wives Choirs came to fame through BBC TV star Gareth Malone's hit TV series The
Choir. It aimed to help the wives and girlfriends of servicemen deployed to Afghanistan - helping them to express themselves through song.
Within a year, the choir was number one on the UK singles chart with the Christmas hit Wherever
You Are A number one album, In My Dreams, followed.
The choir performed at the opening of the Olympic Stadium, performed for the Queen, and scored a second number one album, Sing, with Gary Barlow and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber. Open, today, to all women whose lives are impacted by their connection with the military, including serving women, veterans, wives, partners, mothers, sisters, daughters and with a thriving network of 1,800 members in 70 choirs worldwide, The Military Wives Choirs is now on tour, for a rousing, uplifting evening that will inspire and delight.
A spokeswoman for the choir: “This tour will be a real celebration of music and how we express ourselves through the songs we love. We can’t wait to take to audiences across the UK.”
Tickets go on sale locally at 10:00 on Friday, November 1, 2024.
