From Monday 17 - Tuesday 25 June, English Wine Week is celebrated across the country, championing and recognising a sector which produces over twelve million bottles of wine nationally.

Worcestershire may already be known for its picturesque landscapes and rich heritage, which attract visitors from far and wide. However, the county is developing an impressive reputation for wine production which was featured in the Condé Nast - The Best Places to Go in the UK and Ireland 2024.

Emerging as a top UK destination for vineyard tours and tasting experiences, Worcestershire’s vineyards are continuing to draw more visitors putting Worcestershire on the map. WineGB reported in their 2022-2023 Annual Report that tourism is responsible for 75% of all revenue generated for vineyards in Midlands & North region, which includes the Worcestershire area.

Astley Vineyard, considered one of the oldest vineyards in the UK, produces small-batch award-winning wines. Their on-site cellar door shop offers an extensive choice for customers, including Sauvignon Blanc (2022) or a signature Bacchus (2022) for sparkling wine lovers. Whilst the wines produced are the highlight of the show, Astley’s immersive vineyard tours are driving tourism to the area. The tours provide an unmissable insight into the craft of English wine production and a tour of the sun-kissed vines nestled in the beautiful Severn Valley. To mark English Wine Week, visitors and online customers can grab up to 17% off a delicious range of Astley wines until Sunday 23 June.

Wagtail Retreat & Vineyard is a family-owned working vineyard located in Hallow. All lovingly grown on Worcestershire soil, Wagtail produces four different wines with four different grape varieties – Solaris, Pinot Noir, Pinot Precoce and Siegrrebe. All are available to purchase via their online shop. Making Wagtail extra special is the opportunity for guests to stay overnight in three luxury shepherd huts, which overlook the vineyard and provide some of the best views of the Malvern Hills in Worcestershire. Each hut has been carefully designed to provide modern comfort and rustic interiors. All fitted with a king-size bed, roaring log burner and an outside bath.

Deer Park Wines is an independent vineyard and wine producer, with an emphasis on quality and sustainability. 5,000 vines are grown in the Worcestershire countryside which were first planted in 2016. Deer Park offers vineyard and tasting tours, where visitors are guided through beautiful vines with views of the neighbouring herd of red deer. Outstanding views, expert knowledge and exquisite wines come together to form an unforgettable experience. Three beautifully renovated holiday cottages are also located onsite providing a romantic retreat in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
