Avoncroft Museum, in Bromsgrove, is delighted to announce its recent success at the Visit Worcestershire Tourism Awards, where it secured two prestigious accolades: ‘Small Visitor Attraction of the Year’ and recognition for Avoncroft volunteer Andrew Hurley as winner of the ‘Worcestershire’s Tourism Unsung Hero’ category.

The glamorous awards ceremony, with over seventy finalists and sixteen winners, was held on the evening of Friday 21 March at Three Counties Showground, and celebrated the county’s outstanding contributions to tourism and hospitality.

Avoncroft Museum’s achievements underscore its commitment to both preserving and showcasing Worcestershire’s rich architectural heritage while at the same time providing a high-quality experience to visitors of all ages.

Andrew Hurley, a dedicated member of Avoncroft team of volunteers, was awarded Worcestershire’s Tourism Unsung Heroes, highlighting the exceptional dedication and vision he has shown over the past thirty years in establishing and developing Avoncroft’s National Collection of Telephone Kiosks.

Avoncroft Museum Director Zoe Willems comments, “We are delighted to receive this important award reflecting the incredible dedication and achievements of Avoncroft’s small team of staff and volunteers. I am also delighted that Andrew Hurley has received long overdue recognition for the passion he has shown in developing the National Collection of Telephone Kiosks, one of the most fascinating and popular parts of the Avoncroft Museum collection.”

Winning these awards not only brings pride to Avoncroft Museum but also qualifies it to represent Worcestershire at the National VisitEngland Awards for Excellence in June 2025.
