Birmingham Rep has announced that three of the stars from their 2023 spring-summer season have been nominated in the prestigious UK Theatre Awards 2023.

The UK Theatre Awards are the premier awards for UK regional theatre, and a highly anticipated annual celebration of outstanding achievements in the nation's theatre scene.

BAFTA winner Siobhán McSweeney has been nominated in the Best Performance in a Play for her role as Winnie in Happy Days, the Samuel Beckett play that Landmark Productions brought to The Rep stage in June.

In the same category Wiliam Young is nominated for his role as Lennie in Of Mice & Men, directed by The Rep’s Associate Director Iqbal Khan. This was a Birmingham Rep, Leeds Playhouse and Fiery Angel co-production, which opened in March.

Bryony Corrigan has been nominated in the Best Supporting Performance (in a Musical or Play) for her role in I, Daniel Blake. This was a Northern Stage, Birmingham Rep, ETT, Oldham Coliseum and tiny dragon Productions production in association with Cardboard Citizens.  The production opened in June to rave reviews.
