Enchanting children’s shows will be coming to Birmingham Rep over the coming months providing families with toddlers as young as 3 with the opportunity to experience the magic of live theatre during school holidays.

From Thursday 13 - Saturday 15 April the first ever stage adaptation of Judith Kerr’s bestselling Mog picture books featuring original songs, live music and a menagerie of creatures, little and large, brings the iconic stories to life.

Join Mog the Forgetful Cat and the Thomas family, on a journey through one year in the life of a really remarkable cat, as she catches a burglar, gate crashes a cat show, goes to the V.E.T. and gets to eat lots and lots of eggs. Everyone’s favourite cat might be forgetful, but she certainly has a lot of adventures and she loves her family very much.

Julia Donaldson’s much loved The Singing Mermaid is brought to the Rep on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 May - just in time for summer half term.

Hoping for fame and fortune, The Singing Mermaid joins Sam Sly's circus with the promise of a life of excitement (and her own swimming pool). The audience will no doubt love her singing but will soon find out she's been tricked by the dastardly circus master. Will she ever escape? And who will help her along the way?

This enchanting production features 3 skilled performers and colourful puppets with songs by Barb Jungr, Julia Donaldson and Lydia Monks making it the perfect family treat.
