Readers of a certain vintage will surely recall the impact which Star Wars made when it first hit cinema screens way back in 1977. They may also remember - and might even have owned - some of the Star Wars-connected merchandise that flooded the marketplace in the wake of George Lucas’ blockbuster movie...

Star Wars afficionados can this month take a walk down memory lane courtesy of this fascinating exhibition. The display features iconic action figures, dioramas, the legendary Millennium Falcon, and all manner of other collectibles - from vintage board games to children’s school lunchboxes and thermos flasks.

The Toys Strike Back, is a unique exhibition which brings childhood memories back to life through one of the UK’s largest collections of vintage Star Wars toys and collectibles.

Back when the movie Star Wars broke box office records and the accompanying merchandise took the world by storm, between 1977 and 1985 an estimated 300 million action figures were sold. This allowed children to re-enact the adventures of Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo becoming the must-have playthings for an entire generation. See these iconic action figures, dioramas and the legendary millennium falcon. Take a selfie next to mannequins of your favourite characters such as Darth Vader, Obi Wan Kenobi, Jedi master Yoda and the infamous Bounty Hunter Boba Fett. View collectables including vintage board games to children’s school lunch boxes and thermos flasks and much, much more…
